Welcome
Welcome to Cabot Elementary School—a vibrant, inclusive community in Newton, Massachusetts, where more than 400 students, their families, and a dedicated staff work together to create an exceptional learning experience. Our school draws from the rich diversity of Newton’s neighborhoods, fostering a community where every child is known, valued, and supported. Our mascot, the Cabot Cubs, symbolizes the pride, curiosity, and care that define our school spirit.
We are proud to house the city-wide STRIDE program, which supports students with significant communication and learning disabilities, ensuring that all learners have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Cabot’s core values—Take Care of Ourselves, Take Care of Each Other, Take Care of Our School—guide every interaction and decision, shaping a positive, respectful, and inclusive school culture.
At Cabot, we hold high expectations for academic growth while prioritizing social-emotional learning to ensure students develop resilience, empathy, and the skills to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Our curriculum, aligned with Newton Public Schools benchmarks, inspires students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage deeply with their learning. In literacy, students grow into confident readers and writers who can express their ideas for a variety of purposes and audiences. In mathematics, they master essential skills while learning to reason, problem-solve, and collaborate. Science and social studies provide opportunities to explore the world, test ideas, and connect learning to real-life experiences.
Cabot is more than a school—it’s a caring community where partnerships between home and school help every child flourish. Together, we nurture lifelong learners who are curious, capable, and committed to making a positive difference in their school, community, and beyond.
